Good morning West Texans and all you good, fine, friendly folks out there who wish you were . . .
IT HAD TO BE DONE
http://www.redraiders.com/?p=2632
Welcome to the world of Big Business College Football Donnie Carona http://www.redraiders.com/?p=2632. I hate it for the kid that it played out like this, but the Tech freshman just wasn’t ready for this level of kicking. His technique has some serious issues and you have to wonder if there is anyone on this current staff that’s qualified to doctor a kicker like this young, inexperienced guy? Hopefully Carona isn’t too scarred by the events, can get with a kicking guru this off-season and really develop to the potential that so many see in him. No knock on the guy, I just don’t think he was ready for the situation this coaching staff placed him in. It is also a big move by Mike Leach to make a change here that he so obviously didn’t want to make for many weeks. Another sign of just how monumental the coaches see this season for the Red Raiders as well.
WHEN DID A&M JUMP THE SHARK????
It isn’t whether Texas Tech has passed A&M in football, it is just a matter of when do you think it happened. Did it take place when the Aggies ran off R.C. and embraced the very dictionary picture of The Peter Principle in Fran The Man? Was it one of those nights at Jones Stadium when A&M coaches realized they had neither the scheme nor the personnel to implement it to stop Texas Tech? Did Wes Welker kill the Aggies? Get your votes in today on the blog and we’ll read them tonight on The Williams and Hyatt Show. If we get some good stuff, we’ll probably podcast it later so you non Hubbaplexans can listen to your stuff online later tonight.
JERRY GETS HIS EXCUSE
The worst thing for Dallas Cowboys fans about Tony Romo’s broken pinkie isn’t that he’s out four weeks, but rather that it gives Jerry Jones an excuse to keep Wade Phillips around for another year after the Cowboys fail to live up to expectations again this season. More and more I’m falling in line with those that say the environment around the Cowboys is so lax and so unaccountable that there is no way they can get to a Super Bowl, let alone win a play-off game, even with their collection of talent. No leadership, no heart and no one to tell them otherwise.

Aggie “delusion” started long before any of us were born. It most recently came to light with the hiring of the much over rated Francioni. Futher light was shed on the “delusion” when Mike Sherman was hired. And just what is Aggie “delusion”? A grandiloquent self analysis overloaded with pompus and portentous rhetoric.
I like the idea that Wes Welker did it.
The TXAgs are only one in a long line of “tradition rich” programs. We are living in extrodinary times in terms of college football. The ‘old’ teams are slow to adapt and have fallen behind. As a side note Mike Leach doesnt get near enough credit for this overall change. Both TX and OU not to mention Nebraska and Mizz are all running versions of the Leach “quick pass” football. Remember in 2000-2001 when our offense just looked like a nutball circius?
O sorry now to the point, I agree it happened when the winning spirit of Kliff Kingsbury and Wes Welker rolled into College Station………………………… About the time Wes broke through the crowd on the punt return and you could hear excitement in Brian Jensen’s voice.
Now that the kicker’s gone, what am I going to complain about?
My new boss is a former drum major from A&M. I can’t wait till Monday….I hope.
